Lookback at 2014 and majulah 2015!

2014 was especially a memorable year for me which marked my quarter century on Earth.

Some good and some really bad moments in life. Would really love to move on from the bad ones but it's hard. However, let's just zoom in on the really great moments in 2014.

Went to Taiwan with my family in January. I love chilly weather.

At rainbow culture village with dad and niece
Sun Moon Lake with dad, sis and niece
Dad and niece at the bbq buffet in Ximending
-4 degrees at He Huan Mountain
He Huan Mountain
'Building' houses for baby rocks at Chil Sing Lake
Sinbaiyang with princess niece. She's cute!
My lecturer in UK came to Singapore in April and we had dinner together. I am really grateful to him for his guidance. Fyi, while undertaking my BA, I failed my first assignment. But under his guidance as the programme leader, I geared up and maintained on track for my first class honours in Liverpool. It wasn't easy coping with all the school work, travelling, laundry and cooking, but he was there whenever we needed help. Thank you.

Due to privacy issues, his name is avoided mentioning as he don't like publicity!
Utilised my S$250 Scoot voucher and visited Gold Coast in May. It was awesome! Winter in Gold Coast was freaking awesome. It was like going back to Liverpool but with only half the flight time! Fruits were fresh and cheap. Steaks galore. Lobster was cheap too. Had a lobster dinner for like AUD20 only. Woolies was super good as a supermarket. Hot chocolate was unforgettable. The beach front, night market, theme parks, shopping, games arcade, breakfast and all.

Koala bears! I love koala bears! And kangaroos!

Would really love to visit Australia again in winter!

Great food at Gold Coast!
At Currumbin with the cuties!
Surfers Paradise beach!
Learnt to read Tibetan from a Lama. Kindergarten Tibetan. Met nice classmates.

Good things come in pairs...

Went a bit Doraemon crazy. Visited the 100 Doraemon Expo in KL in March and then visited their JB stop twice in Nov! At this age, whatever floats my boat...

KL
JB

Managed to catch my favourite band live TWICE this year! =) Once for Walk Together Tour in KL, once for 10th anniversary AIR World Tour in Singapore.

Sodagreen 1.3.14 concert in KL. Sleepy face the following morning =P
30.8.14 Greenie's bday AIR World Tour!
Visited heritage city, Hanoi in September. Accessibility was good in the city. Ancient city was good. Food was good. Halong Bay was good. Water puppet was good. And didn't meet with any taxi scam this time round =)

Part of the experience was to try Malaysia Airlines' business class but utterly disappointed. Will never try it again. In fact will skip that carrier altogether.

Yes, the peanuts were not served on plate either.
Food in Hanoi was delicious! Coffee was rich and smooth with hint of hazelnut!
Good complexion here. Loved Halong Bay. Must say that the guide was good
Went Bangkok with my dad during my birthday weekend in October. Didn't have a cake this year but my wish is to have positive changes from now on.

At Mdm Tussaud's
Bought the tix online and enjoyed some discount.
There are also other things worth a mention in 2014.

I am grateful for all the good friends I have throughout these years, through difficult and good times. I don't know if I can ever lend the same kind/level of support to you guys in difficult times like you guys did for me but I am indeed blessed to have you guys around =)

Paper got accepted into a journal. Forthcoming.

My new house is making good building progress.

Onward 2015!

It's alright to travel less, been on the road quite a bit these few years. I only hope that 2015 will be better than 2014 especially in health and work. More discipline. More faith. More catching up on reading. Be happier.
